In what locations do you provide services?
Body Matters Psychotherapy and Consulting provides services in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory and surrounding areas. Remote services are also available to individuals in British Columbia and Nunavut.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you are unable to attend an appointment please call as soon as possible to cancel. No shows or appointments not cancelled within 24 hours will be charged at the full rate of $140.
When do I access my Zoom appointment?
You will receive a link by email to my Zoom virtual consultation room by email at least 24 hours before your appointment. You will be permitted to join the room at the time of your scheduled appointment. For assistance with the Zoom platform, click here.
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session of provides an opportunity for us to meet and get to know each other better. You can expect an informal conversation guided by your level of comfort. I will be curious and interested about what brings you to counselling, what you would most like for yourself out of the process, and what strengths and resources that have helped you along the way.
Are your services covered by extended health insurance?
Many extended health insurance plans cover the services of a Registered Social Worker. Some plans may only reimburse a certain percentage and others may require a referral from a physician. It is recommended that you contact your health insurance provider to confirm the details of your coverage prior to scheduling an appointment. Please note that I do not provide direct billing services. After each appointment you will get a receipt that can be used to submit for reimbursement from your health insurance provider.
How is Body Matters complying with COVID-19 directives?
Due to COVID-19, Body Matters services are offered online via Zoom only. The rates and session lengths for online and in-person services are the same. In exceptional circumstances, a face-to-face visit can be arranged.
