Document Reviews

Language matters. The trauma informed movement has helped us to understand the importance of literature that recognizes and reflects the impacts of trauma on society and individuals. Literature that is trauma informed seeks to normalize and depathologize the diverse individual and collective responses to trauma. Safety, trustworthiness, and transparency are all part of being trauma informed. Documents, reports, and programs can be constructed in a way that reflects these principles, thereby avoiding inadvertently alienating or objectifying your audience. Services offered include:

  • Consultation on core knowledge needs;

  • Review and feedback on documents, reports, or program content.

Knowledge Summaries

Knowledge is power. Information is available at our fingertips, yet it can be difficult to sift through and make sense of a large topic area. Though a thorough review of the literature and research on a particular topic is ideal, this process can be complex and time consuming. The evidence-based practice movement has helped us to understand the importance of using empirical evidence to support effective decision making. Communication products that are accurate and informed by research build trust among your audience. Initial investment in research and a thorough knowledge review can improve informed decision making and deepen understanding of an issue. Services offered include:

  • Consultation on core knowledge needs;

  • Preparation of short knowledge summaries on specific topics related to addiction, mental health, gender/sexual diversity, systemic racism, and trauma;

  • Review of key findings.
